A contract is a written agreement between an artist and an employer. It is a binding document that should clearly set out each party’s responsibilities in terms of the project. It is important to have a contract in order to have a record of what has been decided as regards payment, working requirements and dates. Different employers use different contracts, but the principle is the same: everybody formally agrees to work in this particular way. Contracts are a vital way of keeping records, and help with invoicing and scheduling work, as well as addressing issue when things go wrong.
Below are several examples of the type of contact you may wish to use.
