Creative Bucks is responsible for the delivery of several projects through the partnership members. A five year business plan was written in 2008 which details the work of Creative Bucks.  The updated plan covering years 2009/10 and 2010/11 is available below as a download.

Current Projects

1. Creative Bucks Website

The website is here to provide an umbrella site linking you to other sites and networks across the county. If you have any thoughts and ideas on how we could improve our site please let us know.

2. Advocacy

We attend numerous leisure and economic development based meetings across the county and region with the aim of raising the profile of the arts and creative sector. If there are any issues you would like us to raise please let us know.

During 2007 we commissioned a large piece of research into creative enterprise across the county to show the true value of this sector. The findings were staggering, showing that this sector accounted for a £3bn annual turnover in the county almost one third of the total annual turnover and have helped us attract external funds. 3. Art Works for Business

This exciting scheme, managed by Creative Bucks, promotes opportunities for Businesses to work with artists providing exhibition/showcasing, residency and workshop opportunities. The scheme was piloted early in 2008, with some great project work developing throughout the year with John Lewis, Pinewood, BP Collins, Eden shopping Centre, Buckingham Festival and a Creative Group in HP16, Great Missenden. Over the coming months we will be building on that work and will be developing a sustainability before Christmas. For more information please visit the Artworks for Business website.

4. Evaluation of CATs training and stART Creative Business advice surgeries:

The CATs (community arts training) attracted more that 30 applications for 20 places. We managed to accommodate 21 participants for 4 intensive days of training at Wycombe Library in April. The training was considered very inspiring by 95% of the participants and has provided us with ideas for further development for which we will be applying for funding at the end October 2009. My apologies if you did not get onto the course, do let me know if you are interested should we run another as I am keeping a list. If you would like to learn more about the course and what the particpants thought please download the evaluation below:

The stART Creative Business advice surgeries were fully booked and we had lots of positive feedback from the participants. Support from Economic Development at Wycombe District Council enabled us to run an extra session, also fully booked. If you would like to find out more about the evaluation please download the document below

We are currently developing an application for funding drawing on the feedback from both these evaluations to enable us to develop further support as needed.

5. ‘Driving Inspiration'

Driving Inspiration is Buckinghamshire main Cultural Olympiad project and a cutting edge project in the South East. Working with 5 focus schools, Beaconsfield School, Buckingham Primary School, Heritage House School, Mandeville School and Cressex Community School, this project bring together disabled artists to work with Paralympians, telling and sharing their inspiring stories and drive to success. The resulting work produced in collaboration with young people consists of paintings, music, dance/theatre performances, films and more and will be developed as part of the Olympic celebrations locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.

During 2009 pupils from Mandeville School have composed a great piece of contemporary jazz music inspired by the Paralympics a copy of which is now on the laptop of the Chairman of the International Paralympic Association. In addition visual arts work and the development of slogans to welcome the world to the Uk will receive some finishing touches this autumn to make them into some pilot posters for exhibition and possible display at 2012 training camps and public transport hubs. Feedback from the artists involved, images of work and interviews by young people of the paralympians will be available on www.Disability Arts Online.org shortly. Young people took their experiences of interviewing the artists and Paralympians, and the artwork they created, to inspire them to produced and devised fantastic dances which they have shared with their schools.
